Our beloved Max Ammo (otherwise known as El Ángel Exterminador / Slime Studio) is in need of our help.

For months now they have been experiencing worrisome, debilitating neurological symptoms: chronic migraines, brain fog, visual aberrations, and crushing fatigue. After two ER visits in June, consulting with a neurologist, and many trips to the doctor for ongoing tests and examinations, Max still does not have conclusive answers or a diagnosis to inform treatment. They are stuck in this medical limbo while their symptoms continue to develop: nausea, panic attacks, and feelings akin to vertigo are also recent developments, and their vision is worsening.

Max's ongoing condition has meant that their capacity to work has been significantly reduced. They have been unable to return to their part-time work at PHS, and they no longer have the energy to hustle in their freelance practice as they once could in order to get back on their feet. Their immigration status means that Max isn't eligible for state support, including EI. The steep cost of living in Vancouver and this medical stress is taking its toll.

Max is a brilliant artist, a sweet and heartfelt person who has thrown themself tirelessly into their creative pursuits & community-centered programming over the years that they have lived in Vancouver.
