Support Our Competition Dance Team's Inspiring Journey

For almost 30 years, Franklin Township Public Schools has maintained an extensive Visual and Performing Arts program. Our dance program has produced dancers who have or are currently performing on Broadway, with World-Renowned Dance Companies, touring/performing with mainstream artists, working on movies, dancing for the NBA and WNBA, and so much more.
In 2023, Caylia Wallace, Franklin High School Certified Dance Teacher, Franklin High School Alum was prompted to turn our Dance Troupe Club into a Competition Dance Team and a frequent performance team at Basketball Games and other sporting events. In the 2023-2024 school year, we were able to do the following:
- Fundraised over 10,000 to pay for uniforms, costumes, multiple guest choreographers, competition music, competition fees and other incidental expenses.
- Taught Hip Hop Dance Classes to over 60 Franklin Township elementary school students.
- Performed at over 12 Home Varsity Basketball games.
- Performed at 8 Nationally Televised Metro Classic Basketball games.
- Competed at the NJCDCA Cheer and Dance State Competition, placing 3rd in the state in the Hip Hop Category. This was our first and only competition with only 5 months of preparation.
- Brought in multiple guest choreographers, including NBA Brooklynettes Dance Team Assistant Coach/Choreographer and Netflix Dance 100 Star, Celine Edmondson
This school year, we have already qualified for Universal Dance Association Nationals and performed/participated in our first Football Game as the Franklin High School Competition Dance Team.
With your support we will be able to compete at various competitions in the Eastern Region including UDA Regionals in Philadelphia, PA and UDA Nationals in Orlando, Florida. We will also be able to get costumes for all 20 Dancers and provide dancers with extraordinary experiences that will expose them to the professional side of dance.
Your generous donation would help the expansion and provision of this program. Our mission is to compete, perform, and train at the highest level while exposing young dancers to the possibilities of having a career in the arts. We aim to build confidence, serve our community, and share multiple cultures through dance.
