WELCOME TO DANCERUSH STARDOM!!!

Heyo everyone, my name is Henry Zhang and I'm a filmmaker, content creator, and wholehearted enthusiast of an arcade dance game called DANCERUSH STARDOM. (abbreviated as DRS) I've been playing this game ever since it came to America in April 2018 and I have gotten plenty of hearty exercise and learned lots of shuffle dance techniques. It's truly a rhythm game like no other. Here's a music video I produced to celebrate the success of Stage 3, the SoCal DRS Tournament I hosted in 2022.

WE ARE GOING TO DO IT AGAIN!!

Since the wonderful athleticism and creativity demonstrated in Stage 3, the entire DRS community has been thirsting for another tournament based in California. Therefore, I am taking the initiative once again and hosting the Stage 3 successor: SoCal Stage '24. It will still be a free-to-enter, hybrid-format tournament with an Online Qualifier from May to June and In-Person finals on August 10th, 2024. (pending date) Last time, we raised a monumental $575.

I'm setting up this GoFundMe page to cover several tournament-related expenses and to make this a true community-funded event. While I put in extensive time and effort to coordinate with Puente Hills Mall Round1 and set up the entire tournament production, any monetary support would be fantastic!!

Since we already raised some money offline, here are the remaining expenses:

$160 - Custom T-shirts for the Top 8 Finalists

$120 - Original EDM Song Production for the Finalists' Music Video

$20 - water and snacks for contestants, judges, and commentators

After we meet the $300 goal, any additional contribution will go directly to bonus prizes, gifts for our volunteers, and other potential unforeseeable costs. This is a non-profit event, and I expect to give everything back to the community! The tournament will happen regardless, even if we don't reach our goal, but donations can greatly ease our financial stress.

We will thank every donor publicly during the tournament livestream. Or, if you're present during the finals, we'd love to thank you in person in front of our audience!

Your name will also be in the credits at the end of the music video or even dedicated screen time in case of exceptional contribution. Printed names on the finalist T-shirts are also possible.
