This guy!
This guy has been driving us crazy, for nearly 40 years, and running!
This guy... has also been our hero, our tow truck driver...our taxi, our dog walker, our fix-it guy, our Uber, and even our bank.
He's been there for all of us, more time than we could collectively count. He's made sure we had cars, food, money, clothing-you name it.
But most importantly:
He's been our "dad”.
And he's ALWAYS made sure we never needed something, that we didn't have.
Right now, he needs a new kidney…
…and in order to get that kidney, he must be healthy enough to undergo his transplant. Some of the medications he takes, causes a little thing in his brain called the “Hypothalamus”, to send “false alarm” hunger signals which in turn, perpetuates insatiable “hunger pangs.” Imagine craving…sayyy- chocolate cake! (except, constantly). Like, non-stop.
And no matter how much of it you ate- you still wanted…yep!
You guessed it…CHOCOLATE CAKE.
Well that’s what’s happened over the course of 6 months, resulting in dangerous weight gain.
Weight that he cannot afford to have, while he is nearing that “call”-
the call we stay in prayer for:
“We have your kidney!”
The only medically reasonable way to manage and achieve the weight loss he needs, is through (yep! another…) medication.
However, this medicine costs over one thousand dollars. Well- what about Insurance, you may ask?
“It’s not covered”
Words we are all too familiar with.
We’ve tried coupons, discount programs, prescription cards…even going as far as calling the pharmaceutical companies themselves- and to no avail.
Our “Dada” needs this medication.
It will help save his life.
He’s done so much, for so many people, for so long…
Can we please come together, to lessen the burden on our mom “Nana”, and her beloved “Dada”?
We would surely be grateful; and a simple
“thank you”- will never seem enough.
But that’s all we have.
So, we want you to know:
We truly, genuinely, THANK YOU…
from the bottom of our hearts
