Support for Our Dad’s Fight Against Stage 4:
Many of you know our dad because he was your band director, he was your colleague, he was your accompanist, he was (or is) your church pianist, he is “THE VOICE” to announce your band at halftime, he is your friend, he is someone you listen to, or he is considered part of your extended family. How ever you know our dad, you know he would and will go above and beyond whenever he can.
Both of our parents have always been wonderful examples of walking by faith and not by sight. They give selflessly to their family, their colleagues, church, and community, but now, it’s our time to help them.
Our dad was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in both his colon and liver. As you can imagine, this news took us by surprise, BUT we serve and trust a mighty God who will bring us through this new challenge. He’s now a few chemo treatments in, and thankfully he’s been feeling better than we expected so far. We’re grateful to the Lord for every good day he gets.
The reality, however, behind the scenes has been incredibly hard. Both of our parents have had to cut back working their jobs, our dad with part time things and our mom with her full time job, to make it to chemo, scans, and doctor appointments. Our mom has used up all of her sick days, and she’s now getting docked from her pay each time she takes him to treatments. The financial strain is starting to pile up on top of the emotional weight they’re already carrying.
We’re setting up this fundraiser to help relieve some of the stress so they can focus on what actually matters: our dad’s health, his strength, and this fight ahead of him. Any amount helps, and even sharing this post makes a difference. Thank you for supporting our family during one of the hardest times we’ve ever faced. Your generosity means more than we can say.
