Our lives have been turned upside down. Our father suffered cardiac arrest on Monday, but thankfully, they were able to resuscitate him. He is currently in the ICU, battling critical heart failure and stage IV chronic kidney disease. He relies on regular, draining dialysis treatments just to stay alive. Despite his own serious heart and kidney problems, our father refuses to give up. He tirelessly tries to care for everyone, even when just moving is a struggle for him. One of his daughters recently passed away in April of this year, and that has taken a tremendous toll on him.

Our father was living with one of his daughters, Lauryn (Me). I’m currently fighting my own financial and emotional battles and am sacrificing so much to keep my father alive. I just came back from maternity leave and am starting to work again. My dad was my rock, my backbone, and my everything. If I didn’t have him, he made sure I had everything I needed. We would laugh and talk after work, cook dinner together, play with the kids, and he would tell me stories about his childhood. We would also go out to eat together and have ice cream dates. I hate that I’m writing this now, but I humbly seek a miracle. God, please work your way into my dad. He’s a fighter, and you know he is!

The weight on our family’s shoulders is crushing. Medical bills are piling up, dialysis treatments are costly and frequent, and the emotional toll is overwhelming.
