9-year-old Chloe's life was turned upside down on January 26, 2024 when she was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a rare and extremely aggressive tumour in the brain stem for which there currently is no cure.
Erin, Chloe's mother, is a pediatric oncology nurse, and has dedicated herself to providing the most compassionate care to her patients and their families for over a decade. When she brought Chloe into the SickKids' ER she expected that Chloe's headaches and dizziness were due to a concussion, but instead something beyond her worst nightmare was realized as her own beautiful, empathetic, thoughtful daughter was handed a terminal cancer diagnosis.
Erin is now on the other side of the nurse-patient relationship as she and her family try to navigate all that lies ahead for this fearless, infectiously energetic, Pokemon-loving little girl. They will need our support as they face the unimaginable in the coming days, weeks, and months. Chloe remains strong and brave in the face of her diagnosis, and vows to fight valiantly - she's willing to take on whatever is coming at her. She even drew a picture of what she believes her tumour looks like and gave it some hefty gigantic stomps before proceeding to tear it apart. DIPG will not bring down her spirit.
We want to support Erin, Chloe, and their family in the excruciatingly difficult months ahead. Please join us in raising money to ensure Erin has the opportunity to stay by her daughter's side every step of the way.
