Over the past year, we’ve prioritized giving our chickens plenty of space to free-roam—knowing how much they thrive with fresh air, sunshine, and natural enrichment. But after losing several of our birds to predators this spring, we’ve had to reckon with the hard truth that the freedom we offered came at too high a cost.
We’re now working on a full rebuild of the run and coop to create a safer, sturdier home for our flock. The new design will include secure wire sides, a clear roof for light and shelter, and a fully enclosed structure to keep them protected—while still offering the weatherproof comfort they’ve had before.
It’s a big project, and we could use a little help to get there. If you'd like to support us as we re-coop from this sudden cost (we couldn't resist), we’d be so grateful. Our hope is to welcome more chickens in time, continue to share eggs with our community, and even add some art and whimsy to the new coop with the help of friends.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and love. It truly means the world to us—and to the ladies.
