I never imagined I would have to write this.

Our bookstore Moon Lit Pages was devastated by this historical flooding, and the damage is heartbreaking. The floors are ruined, the bookshelves are a total loss, and countless books have been destroyed.

What makes this especially difficult is that we had just finished repairing and remodeling the bookstore. We had poured so much of ourselves into making it a beautiful, welcoming space for our community and now it feels like we’re starting over.

We’re also racing against time. Humidity and mold are threatening to cause even more damage, and we’re working as quickly as possible to clean, salvage what we can, and begin figuring out what comes next.

Our family and team have already come together in an incredible way. They have spent hours cleaning, hauling, sorting, and doing everything they can to help us save our little bookstore. I am beyond grateful for every person who has shown up for us.

But rebuilding is going to be a long road, and we need help.

Funds raised will go toward removing damaged materials, replacing flooring and bookshelves, cleaning and treating the space, replacing destroyed inventory, and repairing the bookstore so we can eventually open our doors again.

This bookstore is more than a business. It’s a dream, a home for stories, and a place for our community to come together. Losing so much of it hurts more than I can put into words.
