Support Our Beloved Senora Galindo

Ximena Galindo's dear husband Jeff was recently ushered into a very serious emergency heart operation. While he has survived the ordeal it has (and will continue to be) a very long road.

For some back story, Jeff was born with aortic valve stenosis and while he went to many different cardiologists throughout his life, when he went to his May check up the doctors expanded his diagnosis to include a severe aortic stenosis, aneurysmal ascending aorta, and a biscuspid aortic valve. In plain words his aorta was now compromised from overwork and any small exertion would blow his artery making him bleed out in minutes.

Ximena and Jeff had been under the impression that he would have a tavr (valve through his groin) operation but the cardiologist told them that due to the sustained damage to his aorta he would need the Ross procedure immediately. On June 14th Jeff underwent this emergency procedure, getting rid of his aortic valve, and replacing it with his very own pulmonary valve, then taking a cadaver valve to replace his pulmonary valve. They also replaced his aorta with Hemashield graft and his sternum was closed with steel wires. Jeff’s extensive surgery was successful, but he had multiple frightening complications while in the ICU.

Jeff is now at home and requires constant support. He has a rigid regimen of medications, a strict diet, and regular visits from a nurse, OT, PT, and numerous appointments with his surgeon, and cardiologists. Jeff is unable to drive, or walk outside by himself and he will not be going back to work anytime soon.

The outpouring of support for our beloved Senora Galindo has been immense and has really helped her through this time. She has received so many lovely notes and people offering to help in some way that it became apparent that we needed an easy place for people to support her dear family. While this amount won’t fully cover the extensive medical and post op bills and unexpected income loss that they are immediately facing, anything you can do will be greatly appreciated.
