Support Gerry Shikatani on His Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
In September, while delivering a heartfelt eulogy for his beloved nephew, our dear friend Gerry Shikatani—a poet, food writer, and world traveler—suffered a life-altering stroke. This event has left him with significant mobility challenges, particularly affecting his left arm and leg.
Thanks to an initial physiotherapy program, Gerry has made remarkable progress: he has regained the use of his left arm and his speech has returned to normal. However, the initial provincial support has now been exhausted. Gerry’s limited government pension must now cover his placement in a suitable living facility, leaving no funds for the ongoing physiotherapy and recovery efforts essential for him to regain his mobility and independence.
Gerry is an artist, a storyteller, and a vibrant spirit who has touched so many lives. At this critical juncture, he needs our help. Your support can make a world of difference in ensuring Gerry has the resources he needs to continue his recovery.
We kindly ask for your generosity by contributing a suggested donation of $20, $50, $100, or whatever amount you feel moved to give. Every donation, big or small, will bring Gerry closer to reclaiming his mobility and his life.
Together, let’s support Gerry on his journey back to health and independence.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
