We all know and love our Baby Moose so it breaks my heart to share this news. Moose started limping about a month or two ago after a trip to the beach. We thought he had maybe twisted his wrist playing in the water so we monitored him to see if he would get better, and for a while he was improving. About 10 days ago he woke up and wouldn't put any weight on his right leg. When we took him to the Vet yesterday we found out that there is a very strong chance that he has bone cancer in is right leg. He his currently at the vet to get a biopsy of the bone in question to confirm. There is a small chance it is a fungal or bacterial infection, but it's really looking like cancer unfortunately. The vet says that it looks like it hasn't spread to anywhere else in his body yet, but it is a fast moving, aggressive type of cancer that needs to be treated as soon as possible. I will find out more soon, but currently the next steps would be to amputate his right leg and hope for the best. As I'm sure we all know, treatment like this is not cheap and anything that you could donate would help our boi so much. I will keep everyone updated on his progress here.
