We ordered custom jerseys back in March to have them available for our first tournament on April 26, 2025. That way, we had ample time to see how they fit, how they were made, and to see if we had any alterations that needed to be made. The jerseys arrived on April 17th. I opened the box up and made sure all the sizes were correct and that we had the right amount of jerseys and duffle bags to go with each jersey. Everything was there, and that’s when I reached out to the team and other coaches to let them know that we would be handing out jerseys at our next scheduled practice, which is today (April 22nd). The kids were excited and anticipating this day.

However, the day prior, I met with another coach and we transferred the merchandise to his vehicle so he could bring the jerseys to practice the following day. Later that night, between 10:30 PM and 4:00 AM, his vehicle was broken into, and belongings were taken. Our kids' AAU jerseys and bags were some of those things. It’s truly unfortunate because our tournament is this upcoming weekend, and we are short on jerseys for our 10th-grade team. We decided that we would let the 11th-grade team wear the jerseys that weren’t stolen since they’re the elder of the two teams.

Our next tournament isn’t until the second weekend in May, so we have time to order more jerseys and let the younger kids wear last year's uniforms until we can fix the matter at hand. Those kids' parents have paid their dues and should have their kid’s new uniform and bag just like the others. We will do our best to use what we have for now, but we would love for our supporters to pray and possibly make a donation to help us replace these jerseys and bags.
