Please help our Dana 6th Grade STEAM students experience our amazing international, award winning " Restaurant Project." They will immerse themselves in cuisines from different cultures , where they will sample various foods and interview the business owners to gain insight on what sort of aspects an entrepreneur restaurant owner needs to deal with. Funds from this fundraiser will help pay for our 180 6th grade STEAM students' field trip to actual local restaurants. Their experience will help them to research, collaborate, design and promote their restaurant using the design thinking method!

We are implementing an interdisciplinary PBL that teaches science, history, math, English, technology and Arts curriculum to students by having them create a mock restaurant that's based on one of the ancient civilizations that they're studying, and making the restaurant as energy and environmentally sustainable as possible. Students will create a business plan, create 3D SketchUp models, develop menus that are ethnically relevant and address people's dietary needs. Students create spreadsheets to determine net costs and projected gross income, collect and analyze demographical studies, and a lot more.
