Howdy!
My name is Joshua Jury, and I’m a Professional Writing/Journalism student at The University of Oklahoma as well as the writer and director of “MANHATTAN 1945”, a brand-new political thriller short film produced and crewed entirely by myself and my fellow OU students.
“During the highly documented and discussed Manhattan Project in the desert of New Mexico, MANHATTAN 1945 chronicles the events of the final twelve minutes before the detonation of the very first atomic bomb by J. Robert Oppenheimer and his vast team of scientists.”
The film follows scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and United States Military General Leslie Groves as well as the other scientists on the project during the final twelve minutes before the detonation of the bomb as they discuss the ever-approaching and terrifying moral and practical dilemmas of detonating the most dangerous weapon the world has ever seen.
As a writer, I have spent hundreds of hours perfecting the script, and I am beyond excited to be finally producing and making this film, which will also be submitted to several prestigious film festivals around the country after it is finished.
With proper funding we will be able to secure the best location for the film, all of the various set designs and props needed for said set, as well as all of the other various needed resources for our cast and crew crew to make the best film possible.
We are looking to fundraise $2000 by August 10th, with production starting later that same week.
All donors will be included in the "Special Thanks" section at the end of the film as well as receive an invitation to the private premiere of the film before it premieres publicly at film festivals.
We are all so excited to make this film, and with your incredibly appreciated help, we can make one of the best student films that has ever been seen.
