Saving Our Girl Otto

Hi everyone. This is really hard to write, but our sweet 1-year-old orange tabby Otto has been fighting for her life. A few days ago, she suddenly got very sick; she stopped eating, threw up nonstop, and cried when we touched her belly. We rushed her to the emergency vet and learned she had swallowed something that perforated her intestines.

She needed emergency surgery right away. The vets had to remove three different sections of her intestines to save her. She’s now in the hospital recovering, hooked up to IVs, on pain meds and antibiotics, and being monitored closely for infection or leaks. It’s a lot for her tiny body, but she’s trying so hard. We just want our girl home again.

She has a baby brother, Niko, who has been absolutely lost without her. They always sleep together, eat together, and follow each other around the house. Since Otto has been gone, he’s been looking for her everywhere and waiting by the door. We need to get them back together.

The hardest part is the cost. Between the emergency vet, imaging, surgery, and ongoing care, we’re already over $6,500, and the bills are still increasing while she’s hospitalized. We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t cover this alone.
