Our nephew Otto Stuckman has been diagnosed with cancer for the third time.

The first time, he was just five. Then again at thirteen. And now, at fifteen, he’s facing it all over again - but this time, the treatments that used to work aren’t enough. His best chance now is a clinical trial in Boston, which means traveling from the West Coast across the country and starting yet another difficult chapter far away.

If you met Otto, you’d never guess how much he’s been through. He’s funny in that quick, unexpected way that catches you off guard, and he’s incredibly smart. He already knows he wants to be a pediatric anesthetist someday. He wants to help kids the way doctors have helped him. Even through years of treatments, hospital stays, and everything that comes with them, he’s kept up with school online and hasn’t fallen behind. It’s kind of amazing.

But it’s also been exhausting. For him, and for his family and our brother Brandon.

There have been so many hurdles along the way. Things that shouldn’t be hurdles at all. Insurance wouldn’t cover a wheelchair that actually fits in their car because, technically, he “won’t need it for life.” They’ve already traveled to New York for a clinical trial, only to learn that the cancer had come back again. Each step forward seems to come with another unexpected setback.

Now they’re preparing to head to Boston, and the reality is, it’s a lot. Flights, everyday bills, food and that’s on top of everything they’re already carrying emotionally and physically.

That’s why we're reaching out.

If you’re in a place to help — even just $5 or $10 — it would mean more than I can really put into words. It’s not just about covering costs; it’s about giving them a little bit of breathing room, a chance to focus on Otto and to take care of themselves during a really long, really hard journey.

And if you’re not able to give, sharing this or simply keeping Otto in your thoughts means a lot too.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. ❤️
