The Beginning of the Battle
Our lives changed forever this past October. After suffering a series of strokes, Otto was hospitalized on October 19th. During those ten days in the hospital, we received the news that no family is ever prepared for: Otto had Stage 4 adenocarcinoma - lung cancer. That had metastisized to his lympatic system and bones.
A Hard-Fought Journey
Otto faced this diagnosis with incredible bravery, but the challenges kept coming. On November 26th, we were told there were no remaining treatment options. Just four days later, on November 30th, Otto suffered another major stroke that left him immobile. He was admitted to hospice care on December 1st, but Otto wasn’t done fighting.
One Last Christmas
Otto fought like hell for 25 long days in hospice. His goal was clear: he wanted to make it to Christmas. Through sheer will and strength, he reached that milestone. On December 25, 2025, Otto passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of my mom and me.
How You Can Help
Otto was a fighter until the very end, and now we want to honor his memory with the dignity he deserves. We are raising funds to help cover the costs of his funeral services and the unexpected medical expenses accumulated over the last three months.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden on our family during this time of grief. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with your network.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support as we remember Otto.
