Hi, my name is Brooke Gerlach.
I’m a senior at the University of Idaho, and I’m currently directing my capstone project short film titled OTTIE. This film is a major part of my final year, and it represents everything I’ve learned as a filmmaker and storyteller.
This project means a lot to me and my team, and I’m asking for support to help bring this story to life.

Synopsis
This film centers around an eighth grader, Ottie, who loves making art and crafting inventions but struggles with intrusive thoughts. Ottie sees these thoughts as an annoying little orange fuzzball named Itch, who loves playing pranks and getting on Ottie's nerves. Ottie finally reaches her breaking point with Itch after her sister is put in danger, and she is forced to see her intrusive thoughts for what they really are.
