Meet Otis Mac. I spotted him walking down a busy road in Dayton Ohio on Dec 19, 2024 without any tags or microchip, and every rib defined against his skin. He was excited to get in my car but did not have the strength to jump in. When I lifted him up, I noticed his paws were raw and bloody. Once I had him out of the cold and set up in my laundry room to decompress and warm up, I had a chance to take a better look at him. He has pressure sores in places on his legs that indicate a long period of time contained (possibly in a crate) without a soft bed.

Despite his pain, the cold, and whatever trauma he may have, he was incredibly affectionate from the very beginning and wants nothing more than a good, warm cuddle.

After spending hours on the phone and in my email trying to find a shelter, humane society or rescue to take him, it’s looking like he is going to be with me for a time, as everyone is at capacity. Having another dog at this time is not financially possible for me. His and my options are quickly dwindling.

My hope is to raise enough money to cover the initial estimated medical costs:

-Bloodwork

-Deworming

-A K9 tooth extraction that has been recommended by my vet sooner rather than later

- Vaccinations

- Neuter

-Antibiotics

-Ringworm test

-Ear meds

-Allergy meds

-Deworming

-Initial parasite prevention

100% of funds will be dedicated to Otis’s needs, however far it may go. Should he leave my care, the funds will go with him.

Otis is the goodest boy. He’s so full of love and spunk. I will do everything I can to set him up with a better future than he has past.
