This fundraiser has been created to benefit the family of Osten Utley.

I'm Jen Anthony, a friend of Osten's mother (Melissa Williams), and my husband and I are small business owners in Stillwater. I've lived in Stillwater almost all of my adult life, and my husband grew up here. This is a legitimate fundraiser that has been approved by Melissa, although she was reluctant to accept the help.

On Wednesday evening, April 1, 2026, 14-year-old Osten (Oz) Utley, an 8th grader at Stillwater Junior High, was involved in a serious accident after being hit by a car while riding his bike in Stillwater. Oz has remained at OU Children's Hospital since the accident and has been diagnosed with the following injuries:

The first injury is causing the main problem; it’s stopping the brain from being able to send communication to the body, therefore leaving Oz with no ability to move any limbs and limited breathing without a breathing tube. He is alert and communicates by blinking his eyes or giving slight nods, but he can’t speak or move.

Currently Oz's condition is stable, but his medical team is working to keep his heart rate, body temperature and blood pressure managed. A successful surgery on April 10 included a tracheostomy to replace the breathing tube; a new feeding tube that will go directly into his stomach; and repair for his broken nose. Soon Oz will be moved to a children's rehab facility for skilled nursing and rehab work.

As you can imagine, this has been incredibly overwhelming for Oz and his family. The outlook for Oz's recovery is unknown, but what is known is that his family is already undergoing financial strain. Oz's mother, Melissa, is a single mom and a self-employed therapist, and she is no longer able to see clients as she helps her son adjust to the current reality and uncertain future. Likewise, Oz's father, Jason, will also endure financial difficulty as well. Oz will need constant care and support an hour away from his home and community. Travel, hotels, gas and meals will be just some of the expenses in addition to regular monthly living expenses.

So many people, friends and strangers, have been touched by this story--offering prayers and concern and generally feeling stunned and helpless. The Stillwater community is one that rises up and takes care of each other, and I'm asking you to join together now and help our friends/neighbors in crisis. The Utley/Williams family is hurting, and if you are able to give even a little, your donation will make an impact and ease one aspect of their suffering.

All funds are linked to go directly to Melissa Williams for the use of medical and personal expenses for Oz, Sariah, Melissa and Jason.
