Hello family,
If you are reading this message it is because in one way or another we have socialized, there is a great bond of friendship, trust, respect and affection.
First of all, I want to thank you infinitely for taking the time to read and share this life situation I am currently going through. I never thought of resorting to a similar means, however, it is my only alternative. It is worth mentioning that this life experience and each word is directly from the bottom of my heart, with integrity, honesty, transparency and without help, just me sitting in my room after nights of anxiety, tears, stress, and a few hours of sleep…. .
I apologize in advance for my spelling errors, since I have only been perfecting and learning the English language for over 3 years.
For those who do not know me, I introduce myself, my name is Osmar Dionisio Larrave Castillo, originally from the country of Nicaragua, from a small department on the southern Caribbean coast called Bluefields. I have a bachelor's degree in marketing and advertising, with a postgraduate degree in commercial logistics and entrepreneurship. Likewise, I have 1 year, 6 months and 18 days of having entered the country legally with a stopover at the Miami International Airport, on the way to New York. I am currently working at Crate and Barrel, a prestigious furniture and home accessory company, which gave me the opportunity to have my first job in the United States, a dream come true, a life change, and where I have grown personally and professionally for just over 1 year.
At this point you may be wondering why I decided to come to the United States? Why move to New York? What was my plan? What did I do before and after graduating from university? Why migrate to another country? And no less important, why did I decide to open an account on this platform?
Below I share the answers to all those questions…..
In any circumstance of life, no person is born with freedom. I believe that freedom is something we learn and desire since we are children. Freedom does not only mean being able to express different points of view, opinions and paradigms of life. There is also financial freedom, freedom of health and well-being, freedom from discrimination, educational freedom among others. Since I was little I saw the effort of my grandparents and my parents to always provide me with a warm home, a plate of food, education and health. My dream since then has been to raise my family, sacrifice myself and give my best effort to provide them with economic freedom, health freedom, freedom from discrimination...
Since I was little I was taught to work hard, I was always a person who wanted to excel in everything I did, I got good grades at school, I learned very quickly, I was very curious, and I always gave my best, I wanted my family to feel proud. That is why during my adolescence I developed that mentality, of always giving my best, no matter what the cost, leaving a mark and reminder of who Osmar Larrave truly is. A clear example and motivation, a superhero is my mother, Lucia Castillo, she made the decision to move to the United States in order to support her parents financially and provide me with a better quality of life in 2006, for reasons of life and privacy to my dear mother I do not go into specific details but she could not return to Nicaragua and remained here in the United States in the state of New York for more than 10 years. I always wanted to see her again. It was tried for years, but I couldn't come. I was denied a tourist visa, work visa and any type of sponsorship... It was difficult for me to accept not seeing my mother again, however, I decided to move forward, build my university career, have a good job and some day to create that freedom that we so desire.
In January 2023, completing my university career and working in a call center in the capital of Nicaragua, Managua. The country learned of news that would change not only my life, but that of many...
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the humanitarian parole process for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans. Basically, this program consists of where a family member who is a citizen of the United States of America could sponsor a member and/or member of their family for a period of 2 years, in order to counteract the illegal crossing of people, and assume the expenses of their relatives. , and provide them with a work permit so that they can contribute to society and not be a burden on the state.
As many will know, that was my case... A family member decided to apply for me, and thus I was able to fulfill my dream. Arrive in the United States, see my mother again, support my family, retire my grandparents, be a good citizen. I can definitely say that the United States provides a range of opportunities, incredible people. Personally, I am living in a movie every day of my life, a beautiful country... Honestly, I can't imagine where I would be at this point in my life if I hadn't had this great opportunity.
From the moment I entered the country, I wanted to do things well, work legally, pay my taxes, contribute to the economy and society, and be a good citizen. Be an example of life, that regardless of your past, where you come from, and how big you can dream, dreams do come true.
One of my priorities when being in the country is to extend my stay and be legal, fulfilling my mission of being an exemplary citizen. I tried many alternatives to apply for a permanent permit, a work visa, study visa, or extend my parole, but nothing worked. I decided to seek help from a lawyer who will provide me with advice and an alternative to extend my stay, after months of research. Make the decision to apply for political asylum. Due to the socio political and economic situation that Nicaragua has been going through since April 2018. I reserve my comments due to my application, but said socio political information is open to the public.
Therefore, said political asylum would allow me to appear before a judge, express my story, my past experience, political opinion, trauma and fear of the year 2018. Said application would grant me the opportunity to stay legally in this beautiful and desired country.
The law firm I am working with is called: Law Office of Cheryl R. David LLC - Immigration & Nationality Law.
This firm is responsible for helping me with the application process, preparation and presentation of my person before the judge and corresponding paperwork at the asylum office in New York City. Consequently, this service costs approximately $7,500 to $10,000 for representation expenses and audience numbers.
For this reason, I have decided to share my story, take the advice of you, my family. I have no words to express the gratitude and hope you'll have given to me.
Coming from a Central American country, receiving help is not an option. We have to fight, make sacrifices, save, work and strive to achieve a dream and/or resolve a situation. I don't like to receive something completely easy or without having invested a drop of sweat. I'm ashamed if I'm honest, but in life I learned that I am not alone. That there are people who care about you, love you, appreciate you, value you and I want each of you readers to know. That I love, value and appreciate you very much. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you, for the simple fact of giving me the courage, motivation and courage to continue fighting. Don't give up, fight for that freedom that I seek so much.
Thank you for making me feel like family, for opening the doors of your home to me, for welcoming me, guiding me and supporting me in every way. I appreciate every show of affection, messages and prayers. Likewise, I would like to extend my support and return the favor. Without further ado, I say goodbye.
I wish you health and prosperity.
Best regards…,
