In September of '24, Oscar obtained an eye infection and valiantly fought to save his eye as we hoped for his vision to return. In the meantime, Hurricane Helene hit, and many miles were made to see cornea and retinal specialists and pick up compound meds. In January, the infection made a major comeback, and Oscar had surgery to remove his badly damaged eye at UF Shands on January 23rd. We were informed his recovery will take 4-6 weeks. We will also have to travel to an ocularist for his prosthetic eye.
Financially, this has been devastating, but we managed to keep it together until now. Oscar and I need a heartfelt hand up to help us with our monthly bills during his recovery. We need our car for his appointments and our home.
This medical crisis has set us behind on bills and we need to focus on Oscar's recovery
photo posted was prior to eye removal - we realize there are people in need coast to coast but we really need everyone's help and support
