Help Oscar Continue His Fight Against Stage 4 Lung Cancer
In July 2024, our family received devastating news: our father, Oscar Zapata, was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. Though he had quit smoking over 17 years ago and lived an active, health-conscious life, cancer still found its way into ours.
Since then, my father has faced this battle with incredible strength and courage. He has endured chemotherapy, serious complications, and multiple major surgeries, including the removal of his spleen, part of his colon, and a kidney, all in an effort to extend his life and continue fighting.
My dad has always been our provider and our hero. He worked two full-time jobs to raise his daughters and continued driving Uber even after retirement to help cover expenses. He made sure we each had the support and opportunities to succeed.
Today, as medical expenses continue to grow, we are humbly asking for help. These funds will go toward ongoing treatments, transportation to appointments, and daily living expenses.
My father is too proud to ask for help himself, but we know that leaning on the community during times like these is a sign of strength, not weakness. Any contribution, no matter the amount, means the world to our family.

Ayudemos a Oscar Continuar Su Lucha Contra el Cáncer de Pulmón en Etapa 4
En julio de 2024, nuestra familia recibió una noticia devastadora: a nuestro padre, Oscar Zapata, le diagnosticaron cáncer de pulmón en etapa cuatro. Aunque dejó de fumar hace más de 17 años y llevaba una vida activa y consciente de su salud, aun así el cáncer encontró la manera de llegar a nuestras vidas.
Desde entonces, mi padre ha enfrentado esta batalla con una fuerza y valentía increíbles. Ha soportado quimioterapia, complicaciones graves y múltiples cirugías mayores, incluida la extirpación del bazo, parte del colon y un riñón, todo en un esfuerzo por prolongar su vida y seguir luchando.
Mi papá siempre ha sido nuestro proveedor y nuestro héroe. Trabajó en dos empleos de tiempo completo y continuó conduciendo para Uber incluso después de jubilarse para ayudar a cubrir los gastos.
Hoy, mientras los gastos médicos continúan aumentando, pedimos humildemente su ayuda. Estos fondos se destinarán a tratamientos continuos, transporte a citas médicas y gastos diarios.
