I am writing to you today with a heart full of gratitude and a quick update on Orlando’s progress. We’ve reached the first major milestone in this fight, and thanks to your prayers and well-wishes, we have some positive news to share.

The Current Situation

About six weeks ago, Orlando underwent the aggressive surgery we previously mentioned to remove the cancer from his face and jaw. I am relieved to share that the surgery was a success but, he has had some minor complications with infection. It was a massive hurdle to clear, and Orlando met it with the same signature strength we all admire.

However, the "long journey" we spoke of is now truly beginning. Orlando has officially started his radiation treatments. This is a grueling process that he will have to undergo daily for a significant period of time—at least the next six weeks—to ensure we stay ahead of this diagnosis.

Why We Are Reaching Out Again

While the medical progress is encouraging, the financial reality of this recovery has become more daunting than initially anticipated. As many of you know, Orlando has already undergone several reconstructive procedures, some of which are not covered by insurance.

Between these specialized surgeries and the intensive nature of daily radiation, unforeseen financial burdens have begun to mount. With Orlando unable to work and the family focusing every ounce of energy on his healing, the pressure of medical bills and household essentials is growing.
