Support Orienteering in Wisconsin!

Badger Orienteering Club is committed to sponsoring quality events here in Wisconsin. We serve enthusiasts ranging from Scouts earning merit badges to senior citizens exercising in the outdoors. From highly skilled orienteers seeking quality challenges to young families enjoying the outdoors.

One of the biggest needs of quality orienteering is quality maps. Changes in natural and man-made features mean that maps need updating periodically. Our club has a major goal of updating the maps of the prime orienteering areas in Wisconsin. One of these areas, considered to be among the best in the United States, is south of Greenbush in the Northern Kettle Moraine.

Volunteers are currently working on maps of this area using LIDAR and aerial photographs, but orienteering maps need to be field checked to accurately map the vegetation, runability, and landmarks. This must be done on foot and is a big job in an area as extensive as this one is. We have determined that we need professional help to accurately field check these maps. This is expensive. We are asking your financial support to accomplish the job.

NOTE: Somehow I got some things backwards on the form and it appears that I am the beneficiary. Rest assured that the money is being deposited from GoFundMe into the Badger Orienteering Club bank account. I am working on fixing this but having trouble doing so.
