Hello everyone! I'm so honored that my latest feature script, 'People Will Say We're In Love,' has been selected for the prestigious Stowe Story Labs Writers' Retreat on Friday! (announcement HERE) Unfortunately, they "cannot offer the NEA fellowships to this year's Stowe Writers' Retreat," due to a lack of funding, and was only provided a partial scholarship, and I must cover the remainder by July 15th.
Stowe is a great place to work with professionals on honing my script and connecting with the writing community. Many people are aware that I am coming off a ten-year chronic illness (which you can read about in my Harness Interview, HERE ) and just getting back on my feet. Your donation in helping me take advantage of this amazing opportunity will be greatly appreciated toward all the time I've lost. Even a small donation can help me reach my goal of $1205 (including GoFundMe fees)
Here is the logline for the feature: Separated Hollywood legend Grace Baxter and widowed comedy has-been Timmy Bailey have been neighbors for decades. After spending more time together, sparks fly. When they join forces to help their careers, it hits them — maybe they've been in love the whole time.
In the vein of Nora Ephron and Nancy Meyers, my script is a romantic dramedy that explores not only the way older women are portrayed in the media but also the experience of living with grief. It is a tender, funny tale about connection. Comparable films include The Apartment, Something's Gotta Give, When Harry Met Sally, and Sleeping with Other People.
We all need more happy, rom-com stories in our lives, and I hope to make that a reality. Thank you.
