Mine and Sherman's cat Oreo has a propensity for destroying plastic, cardboard, and chewing wires. While annoying, we never thought much of it and would just prevent him from doing so. On the 8th of January he started acting oddly, lethargic and lying about instead of his normal chaotic self. After another day of this, coupled with him not eating, we decided it was best to bring him to the vet. About 4 hours later, the vet determined that he had a mass in his stomach that he would not be able to pass without surgery. To perform the surgery, they needed 5k upfront. Thankfully, we qualified for a CareCredit card and Oreo had his procedure done today. It was a success and he's currently resting up.
However, this emergency was complete unexpected, with neither of us ready for a bill of this size. The main thing we're looking to do is at least take a chunk out of that initial payment that was put against the credit card due to potential additional charges from the vet after all is said and done. To ask for assistance to cover a medical bill is something neither of wanted to do and didn't think we would have to, but this one is a bit too much financially right now for either of us. Any and all help is greatly appreciated, even if you can't donate, just sharing does more than you know.
