Hi, Family and Friends of Fugue!
As you may know, we are in the midst of our tournament season. In late January, we traveled to Santa Barbara, CA, to participate in the Santa Barbara Invite, a great opportunity to play some of the very best teams from the West Coast and around the country. During President’s Day weekend, we went down to San Diego to play in the Presidents' Day tournament at UCSD, with even more competitive teams represented. In March, we head to Seattle to take part in the Northwest Challenge tournament, a preview of some of our regional competition.
These tournaments are great experiences for our team to learn, grow, and get to know each other, but they also bring high costs. Our wonderful logistics committee secures hotel rooms, flights, and rental cars/vans for each tournament. Other costs include tournament bid fees, jersey costs, and supporting our coaches however we can. Nearly everything we need for our season has gotten more expensive over the past year. For example, our flights for the President’s Day tournament were over $11,000 and a tournament bid fee can be up to $1,000. Hotels and rental vans for each tournament are $1,000-2,000 each.
We fundraise in order to keep team dues low, so our sport can be accessible for anyone and everyone. We are asking for your support with the rest of our season. In the spring, we start with sectionals, hopefully moving on to regionals and nationals. This year, nationals is in Rockford, Illinois, which will leave us with more flights to pay for. We are hoping to make a nationals run again this year, after last year’s quarterfinals finish left us hungry for more. The encouragement and contributions of family and friends makes all the difference! We are so grateful for your continued support of our program. ANY AMOUNT HELPS!!
Thank you so much, and SCO DUCKS!!!
With love,
Fugue
