The Open Recorder Days Amsterdam (ORDA) is one of the world’s largest and most international gatherings for recorder players of all ages, teachers, makers, and recorder lovers. Every edition has brought together a vibrant global community to share music, knowledge, and passion for our beautiful instrument.

We are a small, dedicated team — Hester, Francesca, Juho, and Anna — working together to bring this one-of-a-kind festival back to life. As team ORDA, we care deeply about keeping the recorder community connected and thriving.

From 10-12 of July 2026, ORDA will take place at the historic sight of Felix Meritis and Rode Hoed, right in the centre of Amsterdam — the same venue where our very first edition in 2012 was held. These monumental iconic buildings are part of Amerpodia, who contribute substantially to the culture and cultural society in Amsterdam, and whose support of the future of ORDA we are very grateful for.

With concerts, workshops, an exhibition, and a three-day competition at the heart of the festival, Amsterdam will once again become the centre of the recorder world — three unforgettable days filled with creativity, collaboration, and the joy of music-making.

The recorder connects people across generations and borders — from Renaissance consorts to cutting-edge contemporary works. ORDA celebrates that diversity, showing how this instrument continues to inspire creativity and community today. For us, ORDA is more than a festival — it’s a place where lifelong friendships and artistic collaborations begin.

But to make this happen, we need your help.

After months of planning and fundraising, we are still €12,000 short of the budget needed to make ORDA 2026 a reality: to secure venues, pay fair fees to our artists, keep participation costs affordable for students and young musicians, and ensure the high-quality programme our community expects. Every euro you give directly supports the people who make this festival possible: performers, workshop leaders, and prizes for competition participants from around the world.
