The Mission of the Orange Heart Medal Foundation is to honor Vietnam veterans that returned home and who suffer from health conditions caused Agent Orange exposure during their time in service and to spread awareness of the generational health effects caused by dioxin. Our Vision is to have a Law passed to recognize those brave men and women as 'combat wounded' for the internal invisible wounds they have. To date, the Foundation-with help of volunteers has contacted state representatives in 20 states and accomplished this feat. We will not stop until all 50 states are on board or until we have achieved Federal recognition for these members of the Bravest Generation. Each dollar raised goes towards purchasing Orange Heart Medals to be presented to Vietnam veterans who were exposed to dioxin while serving in Vietnam or Southeast Asia and who returned home to suffer the health conditions caused by that exposure AT NO CHARGE. These brave souls have sacrificed so much for the freedoms that we all have today. We have an annual celebration, the last weekend of March to honor and remember these heroes and to read aloud the names that are listed on the Orange Heart Memorial in Springfield, Tennessee. The only Memorial of its kind, where-upon ANY Vietnam veteran who returned home can have their name added by making a donation of $150.
