OR Works is dedicated to creating evocative, interdisciplinary performances that merge contemporary movement, live music, and visual design. OR Works collaborates with artists across disciplines to explore the emotional and philosophical depth of the human experience.

La Playa is an original dance-theater performance exploring humanity’s relationship with nature, the forces that shape us, and the systems — both internal and external — that govern our lives. Structured as a two-part piece, it begins in a small beachside café, where four characters — Fire (a cook), Water (a cleaning lady), Air (a smoking waiter), and Earth (a gardener) — move through their daily rituals. After a tsunami, the second half transforms into an abstract, movement-driven celebration of the body, spirituality, and resilience.

We are raising $24,025 to bring La Playa to its premiere in February 2026 in New York and Ann Arbor:

$9,000 - venue rental (excluding labor cost)

$4,800 - estimated venue labor cost (including production coordination, box office, stage management, etc.)

$7,150 - La Playa creative team (dancers, musicians, light designer, sound designer pay for rehearsal time, travel and performance fees)

$3,075 - other production expenses, including marketing (print and online), documentation (video and photo), set transportation and rehearsal space rental.

Our current goal is to reach $6,700 in the crowdfunding campaign to partially cover the expenses for La Playa creative team (dancers and musicians pay, performance fees, light, set and sound designer).
