SEA NYMPHS KIDNAPPED A DUDE SUPPORTS OPRA!
We are the Sea Nymphs Kidnapped a Dude, a team of rowers (Holly Rasmussen, Zoe Vais, Margaret Christopher, Grant Bursey and Julie Vithoulkas) who are racing in the Seventy48 , a 70-mile event in Puget Sound on May 31, 2019. We borrowed a boat from OPRA , the Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association, a small nonprofit rowing club in Port Angeles, Washington. To support them and pay for various race costs including trailering and upgrading their boat, we are holding this Go Fund Me Campaign! We were hoping our friends and family would pitch in and help us give OPRA some funds to help support their rowing programs. All funds will go toward paying these costs and then will be paid to OPRA within a day or two after the race is over and we will coordinate providing donation receipts to all of our donors!
Follow us during the race at: www.seventy48.com. Every team has a tracker and we can be seen on the map making our way up the Salish Sea to Port Townsend.
WE HAVE 4 DAYS LEFT BEFORE OUR RACE! Want to join us in making a difference?
MORE ABOUT OPRA:
OPRA's motto is: "We row, we grow, we smile." OPRA started in 2006 as a small rowing program with old, donated boats and hard-working volunteers. Like many rowing clubs, they are a nonprofit on a shoestring budget, and yet they have sent junior athletes to Nationals and elite summer camps and have steadily built a solid competitive program of junior and masters rowers in Port Angeles, Washington. Their coaches teach adults and kids how to row in beautiful Puget Sound.
In 2016, OPRA had a rough year. That winter, a windstorm struck Port Angeles and logs awash in the harbor drifted underneath the boathouse and damaged the pilings. The next winter, OPRA's President and Founder passed away and a few other board members left. The coaches and remaining volunteers have been working hard ever since to keep things afloat. Some additional funding would help a lot!
Please donate to our GFM campaign to raise money for OPRA and thank them for generously lending us their fantastic boat to race in! ALL DONORS WILL RECEIVE CUTE GIFTS FROM SNKD.
