About 10 minutes after I woke up today, 5/7, I noticed that Opie was lethargic and had some blood near his urethra. I brought him to the amazing AREC in Oakdale where it was determined he has a severe bladder obstruction with corresponding kidney failure. Normal range for creatinine in a cat is around 1.8, and his is over 10. His potassium is also elevated to the point where he will be getting a kitty EKG to determine that his heart is still okay.

He will be in the ICU at AERC for 48-72 hours. Estimated vet bill will be around $7500 on the high end. As an EMT I don’t make a ton and I do not have the ability to cover this myself. Any funds received will go directly to paying his vet bills.
