HELP SUPPORT OPIA PRODUCTIONS FIRST SEASON- 2026
Opia Productions is a collective owned by Michaela Leon and Mary-Clare Bone. Opia Productions exists to make room. We are a home for emerging creatives, from playwrights and actors to lighting designers and all artists in between. We believe in saying yes to ideas, in honoring curiosity, risk, and imagination. In a theatre landscape that too often values exclusivity, we choose openness, inclusivity, and welcome. Our work is driven by a commitment to telling raw, fresh, and honest stories that reflect the world as it is and as it could be.
We are excited to soft launch our first season of shows which will include:
- A recurring monthly event call Play Readers: An event originated by Amanda Bird at the Nest, is now in the hand of Opia Productions. A new play each month for twelve months, one night only, cast live, and read cold.
- Stuck by Jessica Goldberg: Opia productions first full length play opening in spring 2026. THE STORY: Set in backwater Middletown, USA—STUCK tells the tale of two twenty-three-year olds, Lula and Margaritah, best friends since they were five years old. They work at a video store during the day and hang out in the car at night minding Margaritah’s baby and wishing they could get out of Middletown. The play’s inevitable horrific climax comes because these young women cannot imagine how to attain a reality beyond the one in which they already live.
- The Artist Archive: Opia's very own variety show. Artist will be given a theme ahead of time to curated a piece for. All performance will be documented creating our archive.
- An Original Play: At the heart of Opia, is a desire to create and produce original work. More info about this production coming soon.
Under the guidance of the Noisy Nest, a non profit in Beverly Hills, CA. Opia Productions will begin full production January 2026. We greatly appreciate any donation made to support our 2026 season. All donations will be used to directly support our artists and productions, including artist stipends, production costs, rehearsal space, technical needs, and documentation, ensuring emerging creatives are supported and given the resources to bring bold new work to life.
