Opal Eye is an engineering endeavor that aims to break the sound barrier with an RC aircraft.

Many undergraduate engineering teams face barriers that make ambitious projects difficult to pursue. Limited funding, manufacturing experience, and institutional support often encourage projects that prioritize feasibility over ambition. We believe students are capable of far more when provided with the right structure, resources, and engineering culture.

Our mission is to remove the barriers that prevent students from pursuing ambitious engineering projects. We strive not only to create exceptional aircraft, but to develop exceptional engineers and leave behind a framework that enables future teams to do the same.

We believe some of the most inspiring engineering today comes from students, makers, and independent creators who pursue ideas simply because they seem impossible. Our goal is to combine that spirit of ambition with the rigor, documentation, and discipline required to transform bold ideas into meaningful engineering achievements.
