We are trying to raise funds for a cat named Onyx. Onyx and another cat whom we believe is related to her were trapped at a campground dumpster for the purpose of TNR. (Trap, neuter, release) upon trapping both of these girls, the trappers suspected that they were not feral. So, both cats came to me for foster care and evaluation. Both were in deplorable condition. We had both girls spayed, vaccinated and tested for feline diseases. Onyx’s age was estimated to be 6-8 years. I noticed Onyx seemed to have a stuffy nose and was drooling a lot. I took her to the vet and it was determined she has a mouth full of dental disease including an abscess. She received a long lasting antibiotic injection and pain medication. While she has improved some, I also needed to pick up an oral antibiotic yesterday. What will help her the most is the dental procedure.
Lucy, the other cat trapped with her also had terrible dental disease. We were able to raise $300 of her $560 dental procedure. 10 year old Lucy also tested positive for feline leukemia. We were able to get her into a sanctuary which has a living space for feline leukemia cats which will allow her to live out the rest of her life with the best care possible. We delivered Lucy to Tabby’s Place this past Tuesday. Between the spays, vaccinations, disease testing, medications, office visits, food, litter, gas to north Jersey, and the cost of Lucy’s dental we cannot afford Onyx’s dental. Onyx needs her dental in order to move forward to a rescue/adoption. We are not a rescue. We are just three people trying to make a difference in the lives of some campground cats. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. We estimate the cost of Onyx’s dental to be about the same if not more than Lucy’s due to the abcess. Please kindly share our fundraiser. You may also donate directly via Venmo to @MaryEllen-Holton. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
