Support Onyx's Journey to a Happier Life

It’s not easy for me to ask for help but last month I had to say goodbye to the most special dog ever, Josie. I am heartbroken. She was my special girl and she could read my mind. We had a very special bond. I have another dog, Onyx and a foster dog, Bougee. Onyx and Boujee got along with Josie but they don’t get along with each other. Onyx is very reactive and Boujee is protective and resource guards. I have to keep them separated. They cannot be together. This is very stressful. Boujee is up for adoption with The Humane Society of Macomb and we are working on her manners. She will find just the right family sometime soon because she really is a good girl. When she finds her new family, I will have one dog; Onyx. I took Onyx in when my friend couldn’t handle her anymore. I said if Josie excepts her I will give her a loving home with us. Josie gave me permission and we’ve had her for a year now. She is very loving, affectionate and intelligent but her reactiveness is getting worse and she needs training. I will never be able to take her for walks anywhere there might be other people, dogs or wildlife. I have to use extreme caution or lock her up whenever people visit. This makes me extremely sad. I want her to be a well adjusted part of our family. I found a very qualified trainer for her but it’s quite expensive and I can’t afford this. I have rescued, fostered and helped so many dogs find loving families. I need help now. My hours got cut at work and I’ve had a lot of expensive vet bills recently as well as car repairs and college expenses for my daughter. I’m still trying to play catch up with my bills. Please help me get the training Onyx and I so desperately need. It is a “luxury” that I can’t afford right now but I want so bad to have a semi-normal dog that I can enjoy spending time with. I’ve been so depressed about this whole situation. Any amount you can spare would mean the world to me and I will be forever grateful.
