Support and help the family to honor Onyx Cornish

Donation protected
Onyx was killed be her father. The road ahead is going to be a lengthy one, and L.C. is carrying so much weight on his heart and shoulders because he lost both his sister and his father that terrible day.
As we muddle through each day and grieve for the destruction of our family a light is beginning to illuminate the path in front of us. Court proceedings, meetings with attorneys and mental health providers, L.C. returning to school, finding the best ways to help Rayne understand and grieve and finally enduring the Justice System and trusting that justice will be served appropriately.
Slowly with the support from our family, friends and community we can begin to move through the pain and loss we are chained down with right now. I know the road is long and the climb is going to be strenuous but we will endure and i will walk beside my surviving children instead of behind or in front of them.

Onyx Cornish was a vibrant, intelligent, and kind young woman whose life was tragically cut short. She was passionate about music, writing, and Gothic-inspired fashion, and she had a deep love for animals. As a devoted older sister, Onyx was especially protective of her youngest brother, who has autism. She was his trusted caregiver and biggest supporter, always making sure he felt safe and loved. Onyx was also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and never hesitated to speak her mind or stand up for what she believed in. Her relationship with her mother was close and meaningful, even when they faced challenges in understanding each other. Onyx’s future was bright, and her loss has left a profound void in the lives of those who loved her.

Our family has faced unimaginable trauma. My oldest son, L.C., was also tragically affected by his father. The killer intended to take both of their lives before his own, but L.C. bravely fought back, managed to escape, and called 911. He lost his sister and his father that day. As a single mother, I have been working hard to support my family, balancing self-employment with the needs of my autistic son. The sudden loss of Onyx has made it impossible for me to keep up with bills, rent, and car payments, especially after missing work to care for my sons and grieve together. The victims fund covered Onyx’s cremation, but we are still struggling to manage basic living expenses. My youngest is deeply affected by his sister’s death, and I want to support him through this trauma. I hope to take him on a road trip to the forest, a place Onyx loved and where she wanted her ashes to be returned to the elements. This journey will help us honor Onyx’s memory and give my son the space and support he needs to process this loss.

I want to express my deep gratitude to everyone who donated to the previous fundraiser my aunt created for our family. Your kindness and support have made a real difference during this incredibly difficult time. That fundraiser was taken down due to banking complications, but the need for support continues as we face ongoing expenses and court proceedings. Thank you for standing with us and for helping us honor Onyx’s memory and support our family’s healing.

Your support will help us cover essential bills, keep our home stable, and provide the opportunity to celebrate Onyx’s life in the way she wished. Every contribution will make a difference as we navigate this unimaginable time and work to heal as a family.
