We (Allie and Weezie) have created this campaign on behalf of our friend, Onyx Montes. Her mom is currently in critical condition in the hospital in Mexico and is rapidly declining.
At this point, it is very likely that Onyx is facing the possibility of losing her. During this incredibly painful time, all she wants—and needs—is to be by her mom’s side. Onyx has been one of the only people in her family able to step in and care for her mom. Because of this, she has already made multiple trips this year between Tulsa, Oklahoma and Mexico, doing everything she can to show up, support, and be present.
Now, she needs to go back again—urgently. The financial strain of last-minute international travel, combined with missed work and the responsibilities she has at home, has become overwhelming. We’re asking for support to help ease that burden so she can focus on what truly matters right now: being with her mom.
Funds raised will go toward:
- A round-trip flight from Tulsa to Mexico
- Hiring caregiver support to help her in tending to her mom's complex medical needs
- Lost income from time away from work
- Funds for a storage unit (as she will need to move out of her apartment indefinitely)
