Over the years, our rescue partner Viki has single-handedly saved the lives of—and found loving adopters for—hundreds of stray, sick, and homeless dogs in her own poor country of Macedonia.
But Viki is now struggling with her own serious health problems, and, sadly, she is no longer able to care for the dogs in her care.
Viki is broken-hearted because she feels she is letting down the dogs whose lives depend on her.
They say “it takes a village”, and--even though Viki’s is in Macedonia--we like to think that all of us involved in rescue work belong to the same “village”.
Viki’s dogs are depending on her for everything. And dogs don’t know about—or care about—distance between countries.
It would not be financially feasible to bring all of her dogs to our facility here in the US. So she has humbly asked us for help in finding other rescue organizations and/or adopters for the 35 dogs presently in her care.
However, for the short term, Viki is in desperate need of donations to cover the cost of dog food (about $500 each month) as well as to pay someone to feed her dogs following her major surgery.
(Ideally, we’d like to find a minimum of ten generous supporters who would be willing to pledge $50 per month for the next six months or more, while we are looking for rescues and adopters for her dogs.)
Any size donation—large or small, one-time or on a regular basis--is needed.
We understand that many people are having financial troubles right now.
But if you would be willing to forego that morning Starbucks coffee—and instead donate that amount to help care for Viki's needy dogs—your generosity would be very much appreciated.
Our organization (One Starfish Rehoming Connections) here in Wisconsin is a 501c3. So your donation is tax deductible.
All donations will be handled by Viki’s daughter who lives in Belgium (before being made available to Viki who—as mentioned previously--is our rescue partner).
For more information (including if you have any ideas for us as we help Viki in this heartbreaking task), please contact Marti through onestarfish.petfinder.net
