JOSEPH ANTHONY WEBB
Joe Webb graduated from Saint Augustine High School in 1968. He was an outstanding shortstop, earned Eastern League recognition, and was scouted by the pros. He married his high school sweetheart, Cyndi Heine, in 1975, and together they raised 3 adult children: a teacher, a bridged EMT, and a union official.
Joe was hired by the San Diego Fire Department in 1974, and attained the rank of Captain before his retirement in 2001.
On 8/24/20, Joe suffered a stroke, leaving him paralyzed on the left side. Subsequently, through characteristic determination and hard work, he has regained some movement in both extremities and recently stood up for the first time. Unfortunately, his Medicare benefits have expired and despite his progress, Joe is no longer receiving physical therapy.
Joe and Cyndi are presently struggling through the morass that insurance entanglements have become. Joe is in a nursing home that is being paid for out-of-pocket. When he is discharged, he will require 24-hour care for an extended period of time. The family's resources are being depleted and their home may be in jeopardy.
Friends, family, fellow firefighters and Saintsmen, this isn't complicated. Joe Webb is one of our own and he and his family need our support. Please consider a donation to the Joe Webb GoFundMe account, entitled "Support One of Our Own--Joe Webb".
