Help Our Beloved Ona Cosenza Recover After a Devastating Accident

There are some people who simply make every day brighter.

If you've ever played a round of golf at Cypress Run Golf Club, chances are you've been greeted by the warm smile, contagious laugh, and caring heart of Ona Cosenza.

For the past five years, Ona has faithfully served our members as our Beverage Cart Attendant, but to call her that hardly does her justice. She is one of the hearts of our club.

She remembers your favorite drink before you ask. She checks in to see how your round is going. She celebrates your birdies, laughs through your bogeys, and somehow has a way of making everyone she meets feel like a friend. Her kindness, positivity, and genuine love for people have made her one of the most cherished members of the Cypress Run family.

Now, our friend needs us.

On Saturday, July 25, Ona's life changed in a matter of seconds.

While riding her fiancé's scooter, she was involved in a horrific accident that left her with catastrophic injuries.

She suffered a severe traumatic brain injury that caused bleeding on her brain and required emergency surgery to save her life. Surgeons had to perform a craniotomy to relieve the pressure on her brain. In addition, she suffered a fractured pelvis, multiple broken ribs, a broken jaw, a broken clavicle, and numerous other injuries that have required multiple surgeries.

For several days, Ona fought for her life in the Intensive Care Unit.

On July 29, her family received the news they had been praying for—the breathing tube was removed, a significant milestone in her recovery. While this brings hope, it is only the beginning of what will be an incredibly long and difficult journey.

The road ahead will include weeks in the hospital, extensive rehabilitation, physical therapy, countless follow-up appointments, and months of healing before she will be able to return to the job she loves.

During this time, Ona will be unable to work, and the financial burden on her and her family will continue to grow as medical expenses and everyday bills accumulate.

If you know Ona, you know she would never ask anyone for help.

She is the one who is always taking care of everyone else.

Today, we have the opportunity to take care of her.

Whether you are a Cypress Run member, a friend, a neighbor, a family member, or someone who simply believes in helping good people through difficult times, we humbly ask for your support. Every donation, regardless of the amount, will help ease the financial burden so Ona can focus entirely on what matters most—healing.

If you are unable to contribute financially, we ask that you keep Ona and her family in your prayers and share this page with others. Every prayer, every share, and every act of kindness makes a difference.

Our Cypress Run family has always believed that we are more than just a golf club—we are a community. Communities come together when one of their own is hurting.

Now is our chance to give back to a woman who has spent years bringing joy, kindness, and compassion to so many of us.

Let's surround Ona with the same love she has shared with all of us.

Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your support.

Fundraiser Transparency:
This fundraiser is being organized by Steve Martin, General Manager of Cypress Run Golf Club, on behalf of Ona Cosenza. Because Ona is currently hospitalized and unable to manage her finances, Steve has opened a Bank account with Truist and will initially receive the donations and use them to pay Ona's expenses and personal living expenses while she recovers. Once Ona is discharged from the hospital and able to go to the Bank with Steve to add her name to the account the remaining funds will be available in the account for Ona so she can directly access and manage her finances on the road to recovery.

With heartfelt gratitude,
The Cypress Run Golf Club Family
