Help Save Ona — A Talented 10-Year-Old Girl Fighting Leukemia

My name is Cristina, and I am raising funds for Ona, my stepdaughter — a bright, loving, and incredibly talented 10-year-old girl who loves to paint and draw. Art is her passion since she was little. She spends hours drawing, painting, and creating beautiful pieces full of color and hope. She even earned a scholarship for her painting talent, something she was so proud of and excited to continue.

But everything changed overnight.

Ona has just been diagnosed with cancer, leukemia. The doctors have given her a 70% chance of survival, but she will need long, intensive treatment to win this battle. She has already started 5 weeks of nonstop chemotherapy, and she must remain hospitalized for at least 2 months, followed by years of treatment and careful monitoring.

Ona lives in Thailand, while her father and I live in Sint Maarten. The moment we heard her diagnosis, my husband left immediately to be with her. Because her immune system is extremely weak, her parents are not allowed to leave the hospital for the next 6 weeks, to protect her from any infection.

This means:

• They cannot work or earn income

• They must stay inside the hospital full-time

• All living and medical expenses fall completely on us

We are struggling with:

• Travel costs from Sint Maarten to Thailand

• Hospital room fees

• Food and daily essentials inside the hospital

• Medication and treatments not fully covered

• Months of lost income due to her fragile condition

Ona is a fighter. Even while sick, she asks when she can paint again. She dreams of growing up, creating art, and sharing beauty with the world. We want to give her every chance to survive and continue her path as the young artist she is.
