After all Onalaska Farm Sanctuary (OFS) has done in our community to help animals, most specifically cats over the past few years, it is now time us to help out one of our own who has selflessly done so much for the animals in our community and beyond. After so many amount of clinics, transporting hours, and cats receiving much needed spays and neuters, they find themselves being sued for one cat who somehow went missing during one of these low cost clinics. When OFS arrived home with 30 cat carriers, one carrier was open and empty, and a male cat was missing and has not been found. The most unfortunate mistake has now led to a $10,000 lawsuit against the sanctuary. This is roughly the cost that could pay for 1,000 spay/neuters at these clinics for the public. This sanctuary is a non-profit and relies strictly on donations to offer transport, food, and medical care for any animals rescued. The goal is to get the majority of these cats healthy, fixed, and transfered to other rescues they are working closely with to be adopted out. OFS has been transparent about the costs that come with some of the more major health issues that some of these cats have had that the public has donated to. It would be a travesty for our community to lose a rescue that has not only saved so many cats, but has done so much to stop the overpopulation of unwanted animals through their spay and neuter awareness and clinics. Any amount helps to take the burden off this wonderful rescue and any donations go directly to OFS through this fundraiser regardless of court outcome will used as seen fit for the best interest of the rescue.
