Support Omar's Family in Their Time of Grief

Donation protected
Hello friends and family,

It pains me to share this, but sadly our dear cousin Omar has passed away. On the night of Oct 31st, Omar fell down the stairs and hit his head hard. The next day, he didn't wake up. In May of 2025, he had moved to Chicago in hopes of pursuing new ambitions and becoming a better version of himself. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned.

Omar Mendoza was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1992. He came to San Jose, CA, at around 4 years old. He was a really bright individual. At an early age, he became a voracious reader, essentially teaching himself English through reading. I'll never forget at a birthday party as we were singing happy birthday, Omar was on the table reading a Captain Underpants book. He finished it that same day. His academic achievements earned him a full ride to the University of San Francisco where he majored in Multicultural Marketing.

If you were a friend of his, Omar was a great vibe, charismatic, and a great friend. He was always smiling, making you laugh, and ready to engage in a deep talk. He was your biggest supporter and cheerleader with whatever it was.

Today, he leaves behind his mother and sister. Our family has come together to cover all the funeral expenses, including his transportation from Chicago to San Jose. We’ve created this GoFundMe to help support his mother and sister during this difficult time. They’ve had to take time off work without pay while coping with a loss so deep it affects their everyday lives. This fundraiser will help cover their expenses for the next month and beyond; including rent, food, and gas, so they can take the time they need to grieve in peace.

Any contribution, no matter how big or small, is appreciated. Feel free to share as well. Thank you in advance. We love you Omar. Thank you for everything. Until next time.
