I’m raising funds for my uncle, Omar Villareal, a hardworking business owner, devoted husband, loving father, and the primary provider for his family.
On August 6, 2026, my Tío Omar was detained by ICE in Austin, Texas, while on his way to work. Omar has no criminal record, and his sudden detention has left his wife and three young children, all under the age of 8, without their primary source of financial support.
One of Omar’s children is autistic, nonverbal, and requires significant daily care. His family is now facing overwhelming fear, uncertainty, and financial pressure at a time when they need him most.
Omar has always been there for others.
Omar has spent his life helping the people around him. He helps support my maternal grandmother and played a major role in raising me and my siblings while our parents worked full-time.
I recently earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology, and I can honestly say I would not have reached that milestone without Omar’s support. He is the uncle who shows up: the person who gives his time, opens his home, helps our family, and even drove neighborhood kids to school in his work van on rainy days.
That’s who Omar is. He has always shown up for others. Now, we need to show up for him.
There are serious questions and concerns surrounding the circumstances of Omar’s detention and what has occurred since he was taken into custody. Thankfully, an attorney has been secured and is actively fighting for his release.
But his family needs help right now.
Your donation can help provide:
⚖️ Urgent legal and attorney fees
Household expenses and lost income
❤️ Medical and care-related needs for his children
Food and basic necessities for the family
Food and care for their pets
Other urgent expenses while Omar is detained
Every donation matters. Even a small contribution can help keep Omar’s children safe, supported, and cared for while their family fights to bring their dad home.
And if you can’t donate, please share this fundraiser. One share could put this story in front of someone who can help.
Omar has spent his life taking care of others. Now it’s our turn to take care of him and his family.
Please help us support his wife and children, fund the legal fight for his release, and give this family some stability during an incredibly frightening time.
Donate if you can. Share if you can. Keep Omar and his family in your heart.
Help us bring Omar home. ❤️
