Support Omar's Dream: Duke Engineering Master's

Dear Family, Friends & Supporters,
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been accepted into the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University to pursue my master’s degree! This achievement is the result of years of hard work and perseverance, overcoming challenges that often felt insurmountable.
As a Palestinian, I have always seen education as my most powerful tool for breaking barriers and overcoming the conflict I grew up living in. Education is my way of rising above the violence and uncertainty that have marked my life, and with your support, Duke represents an opportunity to take that mission even further.
The ongoing situation back home has deeply affected my family and the people I love. Every day, I worry about their safety, their ability to survive, and their future. The financial burden on my family has grown tremendously, making it nearly impossible for them to support my education. In moments like these, it would be easy to give up, but I refuse to let circumstances dictate my future. By pursuing my education, I am not only investing in myself but also in my ability to uplift my family and contribute to the future of Palestine. I want to use the knowledge and resources I gain at Duke to advocate for justice, economic empowerment, and stability for my people. I would like include that Duke has offered a generous contribution of $9,000 a semester, which I am extremely thankful for. I will also be seeking work opportunities on campus during my time at Duke to help sustain myself and pay for any necessary expenses. That being said, the current GoFundMe goal would help me fund my 2 years at Duke and I would be extremely grateful for your help!
This is about investing in hope, resilience, and the future of a young Palestinian who refuses to let hardship define them. Thank you for believing in me and for being part of this journey.
With gratitude,
Omar
