Support O'Malley's Critical Care Journey
Donation protected
On Saturday, November 11th, Mr. O'Malley was admitted for emergency mass removal at Eclipse Animal Hospital. Our boy is 11 years old, but you would never know that by his playful spirit. Unfortunately, he has faced some complications on his road to healing. Almost immediately after surgery, he needed a blood transfusion. The transfusion was a success, but shortly after, his body started to struggle to keep his blood pressure and oxygen level stable. After a very scary phone call, we decided to drive down to visit him, thinking he may not make it through the night.
Sunday the 17th, we patiently awaited news from the critical care doctor, hoping to hear that our boy had made a turn for the better. We were elated to hear that he seemed to be making progress, but his vitals were still dropping after being taken off medication. We drove down again for another visit that afternoon, having no idea what to expect. We arrived to a happy, coherent boy. Besides his attitude, the doctors felt another 24-48 hours in the hospital was needed to get us through the woods. Another sleepless, scary night awaited us. Luckily, our prayers were answered Monday morning when we received all good news that our boy made it since noon with stable vitals.
The past 72 hours have been a rollercoaster, to say the least, for my fiancé and myself. But I am so proud and grateful that our strong boy pulled through. With that being said, this has been a major unexpected financial strain on our family. O'Malley is one of a kind, truly the sweetest boy who steals the heart of anyone he meets. If anyone is in a position to find it in their hearts to donate or simply share. O'Malley and our family would be eternally grateful.
