Story

Hi everyone and thank you for taking a minute to check out my fundraiser. As many of you know who follow me, I have recently graduated from Rutgers University which also concluded my NCAA eligibility. Over my 5 years at Rutgers, I have been a 4x All-American, 3x Big 10 Champion, 2016 Olympic Trials Qualifier, JR. Pan American Gold Medalist, as well as 4x Academic All-American, and currently am carrying a 4.0 GPA in my Masters degree. Over the 4 years at Rutgers I have consistently ranked in the top 70 in the world and have had the opportunity to train with some of the best throwers to live. 2 years ago, I suffered one of the most detrimental injuries. My shoulder surgeon told me after my surgery I can no longer throw javelin like I did before because of my torn rotator cuff and labrum. 1 week later a cardiologist told me I can no longer pursue my dream to become a professional athlete because of a heart condition. Well... I just competed in my last National Championship and earned All-American status honors for the 4th time and earned my 3rd Big 10 Championship. As you may or may not know, their is not much money to be made in Track and Field which is frustrating because I work just as hard, if not more than professional athletes who make millions. But now I have the opportunity to become a professional athlete and I need YOUR help. Since I was a little kid, my grandfathers dream was to have a grandchild in the Olympics. My father since I was 5 coached me to do just that. My mother always had my back throughout my athletic career. And my brothers and sisters always motivated and inspired me to always strive for more. When my grandfather passed away, I made it my goal, my dream, my destiny to make an Olympic team. This isn’t just for me, this is for my family, my support system, my loved ones who always believed in me to be the best version of myself even in the lowest points of my life. I train 40-50 hours a week so finding a stable job is extremely difficult for me to do but I am willing to do anything to accomplish my goals and dreams. This donated money will be used to help manifest my goal into reality. It will help me be able to afford my travel to meets across the country, meet registration fees, food, training, medical care, therapy and everything it takes to be the best athlete.
